About Janelle Walwyn-White

Janelle Walwyn-White is a founding partner at Walwyn, Browne & Clarke (WSCW) and brings a unique blend of social work and legal expertise to her practice. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, graduating as a Child Welfare Scholar with a minor in Management of Human Services. Her early career as a forensic interviewer, where she specialized in interviewing children who were sexually abused for criminal and child welfare investigations, laid a solid foundation for her compassionate and thorough approach to legal practice.

Janelle earned her Juris Doctor from the George Washington Law School, graduating in the top 10% of her class. During law school, she gained diverse legal experience through internships with the Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division in the Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago, IL, the Office of General Counsel for the Office of Chief Financial Officer of Washington, DC, and a small immigration law firm.

However, she has distinguished herself in the field of family law, handling all aspects of divorce and custody cases, with a particular focus on situations involving severe mental health issues or allegations of abuse. Janelle’s career includes experience at a mid-sized firm of 8 attorneys and a larger firm with over 100 attorneys in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Currently, she serves as a contracted attorney for two prestigious law firms in the DMV area.

Janelle’s combination of social work and legal training enables her to provide holistic and effective representation, ensuring her clients receive the support and advocacy they need during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Janelle is admitted to practice as an attorney-at law in Washington, D.C., Maryland and St. Kitts & Nevis, and is a Notary Public for the State of Maryland.
